Bandhavgarh National Park
Bandhavgarh National Park is the most popular park of India situated in Madhya Pradesh. The National Park is known for its highest population white tigers and varied wildlife species. It is also called the White Tiger territory. Bandhavgarh was declared as a national park in the year 1968. The landscape of Bandhavgarh is covered with thick forest of Sal and bamboo trees. Other species of animals found in the park are Indian Bison, Sambar, barking deer, Sloth beer, Wild Boar and Nilgai. The park also has conserved around 250 species of birds that enriches the wildlife of the park.
Set amongst the Vindhyas, in Madhya Pradesh, Bandhavgarh was once the former hunting reserve of the royal family of Rewa. Royal maharajas used to make the hunting of tigers and other species of animals in the park. Maharaja Venkat Raman Singh made an illustrious record of hunting 111 tigers. Today this park is one of the national reserves of India having the large population of white tigers.
The National Park is ideal for jeep safari and Elephant safari. While going for a jungle tour it is very much essential to take a guide that will provide you valuable information. It is strict that while going for jeep Safari in Bandhavgarh forest you have to take forest guard. Experts or the tour guide will also help you to see tigers as they have goods idea about the tigers spot. Jeep safari is taken during the early morning hours till evening in the forest by tourists and wildlife lovers. Elephant safari is organized in the early morning for tiger tracking. The jungle safari will offer a thrilling experience to tourists coming to explore the rich flora and fauna of the national park.

Kalchuri Archaeological Remains
Bandhavgarh is not only famous for National Park but is also has a historical significance. Here in Bandhavgarh historians have found archaeological remains of the Kalchuri period.
Bandhavgarh Fort
Bandhavgarh Fort is believed to be 2000 years old. The Fort was built in the 14th Century B.C and it the must visit place inside the park. The Fort has a large numbers of caves with Brahmi inscriptions.
Baghela Museum
Baghela Museum has the huge private collection of the maharaja of Rewa. The body of Mohan the first found tiger in the park can be seen here. The Museum also displays the antique collection of military weapons, swords and other hunting weapons. The museum is opened at 10 AM to 3 PM and again from 5 PM to 8 PM. Quite in a large number visitor from India and abroad come here to see the ancient antique weapons, ornaments and the articles of Maharaja of Rewa.
 How to reach Bandhavgarh
Bandhavgarh is well connected with some railways, roadways and air ways. The good transportation system have made easier for tourists to reach Bandhavgarh in an easier way.
By Air: Bandhavgarh can easily be reached with the help of air which have made the accessibility of Bandhavgarh easier. There is a regular flight from Delhi to Khajuraho almost all the seven days of the week. Jet Airways has a daily connection between Khajuraho-Delhi via Varanasi. Air Deccan flight connects Jabalpur from Bhopal and Delhi making even easier to reach Bandhavgarh.
By rail: Bandhavgarh can be reached with the help of railways system. The nearest railheads are katni (102) on the central railways (30) km on the South Eastern Railways, Jabalpur (170 Km) and Santana (112 Km). The good network system of railways have made easier for tourist to reach Bandhavgarh in an easier way.
By road: There is a regular service of State bus and private bus. These buses ply between Katni and Umaria and from Satna and Rewa to Tala (Bandhavgarh). Visitors can also hire car a wonderful option to reach Bandhavgarh. Driving on car you will pass through the Ken River, a crocodile sanctuary. The road trip from Khajuraho to Bandhavgarh is an interesting one.
