This beautiful temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and it is around 1000 years old. The temple witnesses the famous Thrissur Pooram festival in the month of April- May every year. Guruvayoor :
Situated 35 Kms away from Thrissur, Guruvayoor is the most sacr ed and important pilgrimage centre of Kerala. The main attraction of the place is the temple of Sree Krishna temple also known as Guruvayoor Ambalam. It is believed that this temple has magical charm and especially mentally disturbed patients comes here for offering prayer to the deity. The festival is heartily celebrated and devotees for far and wide of the country come to offer prayers at the shrine. Pakshipathalam, Kuruvadweep, Eddakal lakes are also some of the fascinating attractions of Guruvayoor. Arattupuzha :
Situated 14 Kms away from Thrissur town, the uniqueness of the festival attracts visitors from all over the place. In the month of April and May is held in the temple of Ayyappa Temple. The main attraction of the festival is the colourful festival and the procession. People carry images of deities of the 41 neighboring temples wholly devote their mind body and soul praying to the deity. The procession is also carried out by 61 elephants that adds more festive tempo in the festival.

Punnathur Kotta :
Near Guruvayur, 2km away, is 'Punnathur Kotta', the place where the temple elephants (numbering over 40) are taken care of. Nowhere else can so many elephants be seen at any one time.
