Haridwar
Haridwar located in the foothills of the Himalayas is the holiest places according to Hindu mythology. It is an ancient pilgrimage site where devotees come all the year round. Sightseeing at Haridwar -
Har Ki Pauri :
Har Ki Pauri is one of the sacred bathing Ghats of Haridwar. It was constructed by King Vikramaditya in memory of his brother Bhartrihari. Devotees and pilgrims  come from all over the places to take a sacred bath at this Ghat. It is believed that Bhartrihari came at the Ghat to mediate. When he died at the Ghat his brother constructed the Ghat in his name. But now it is known as Har-Ki-Pauri. In the evening Aarti is done and the diyas floating on the sacred River is simply an enchanting sight. The chanting of mantras by the priests and the glittering diyas fills the evening atmospheres in the evening.
Chandi Devi :
Chandi Devi is the sacred temple situated at the top of Neel Parvat. Devotees from all over the places come at the shrine to offer prayer at the shrine. It is believed that whoever comes at the shrine, he of she never go with empty hand. People say that Goddesses Chandi fulfils the wishes of her devotees. Devotees can reach the temple with the help of ropeway or can take the steep climb by steps that takes around an hour. The main image at Chandi Devi temple is said to have been installed by Adi Sankaracharya in 8th century A.D.
Bhimgada Tank :
Bhimgada tank it said to be made by Bhima one of the seven Pandavas. The tank is situated on the way to Rishikesh. It is said that the tank was made with the blow of his knee when pandavas were going to the Himalayas through Haridwar.
Sapt Rishi Ashram and Sapt Sarovar :
Sapt Rishi Ashram is the most visited site in Haridwar. The ashram is also referred as Sapt Sarovar. The sacred ashram stands on the Haridwar-Rishikesh Road. According to the legend it is believed that Saptarishis were wholly lost in meditation. Ganga did not want to disturb them so she split herself into seven streams around them. It is easier to visit the ashram from Har-Ki-Pauri as it is just 5 kms away from the Ghat.
Canal Centenary Bridge :
Located neat the Har-Ki-Pauri, this bridge commands a beautiful view of the canal and the ghats. Viewing the panoramic surrounding from the bridge is one the delightful experience of Haridwar tour.
