How to reach Hemkund Sahib
By Air: Jolly Grant Airport (DED) is the nearest airport in Dehradun that opens doors to reach Hemkund Sahib. Dehradun Airport has excellent connectivity to other leading airports in India.
By Train: Rishikesh and Dehradun are the nearest railway stations and gateway to the Garhwal Himalayas. Trains are easily available to both Rishikesh and Dehradun from all the main cities of the country, connecting various small towns in between.
By Road: It will take your entire day from Rishikesh to Govindghat which is nearly an overall 270 km run via Rudraprayag and Joshimath. The conditions of the Char-Dham highway are always unpredictable. It may take more than one day to reach Govind Ghat if you meet with landslides and traffic jams during the journey.
Trekking: The trek route starts from the village Pulna which is 6 km away from Govind Ghat. Your first destination is Ghanghariya village after trekking 10 km from Pulna. The Hemkund Sahib is around 6 km from Ghanghria. The trekking route is moderate and it can make you tired. However, ponies and palkies are available if you're unable to trek.
