Guide to Reach Kalsubai Trek, Maharashtra:

How to reach Bari Village: Igatpuri, a small town located about 30 km from Bari village, has excellent rail and road connectivity with Mumbai and Nashik. You can either catch a train or bus from any of the cities.

By Air: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) in Mumbai is the nearest airport to Bari Village. The airport is approximately 120 kilometres away and has excellent road connectivity. One can either hire a taxi to Bari from the airport or choose a train or bus for further travel.

By Train: Igatpuri is the nearest railway station to Bari Village. There are multiple trains from Mumbai as well as from Nashik to Igatpuri. If you're travelling via Mumbai, you need to catch a train from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus or Lokmanya Tilak. The train will take around 3 hours to reach Igatpuri. And if you're travelling via Nashik, you can catch a direct train to Igatpuri, which will take around an hour and a half.

By bus: Igatpuri is the first stop to reach from Mumbai or Nashik. One can either catch a local bus or taxi from Igatpuri to reach Bari villages, the base camp of the Kalsubai Trek.

Kalsubai Peak Trek Itinerary: It is a 7 km moderate level trek that will take around 6-7 hours in reaching the summit and returning.

Kalsubai Peak: The mountain peak is part of the main subsidiary mountain ranges of the Western Ghats of Sahyadri. Since the conquerable peak is situated at a mesmerising height of 1646 metres, experts explain Kalsubai Trek difficulty as a moderate trek.

All the main forts and peaks in the mountain range are visible from the Kalsubi temple, located at the peak. While the clouds play in the Sahyadri during the monsoon, the mountain range offers a spectacular view in winter.

Umbrella Falls: This is a huge waterfall located near the Bhandardara Dam, which is a major tourist attraction not only for tourists but also for locals.
