Places to Visit during trip to Panchchuli Base Camp:

Dugtu Village: This is a village situated in the middle of the valley that also provides night stays and food arrangements to tourists at a low cost. The height of hut-like houses built in hill style is up to 8 feet. Some houses appear very old, while others appear new. The trek to the base camp starts from Dugtu village itself.

Dantu Village: Dantu village is situated across the river, which looks very ordinary. The lifestyle here is simple but difficult. Terraced fields, bone-chilling cold, views of Panchachuli, and fresh air with blooming sunshine are the main parts of the lifestyle here. This village can be easily reached by crossing a bridge. Before snowfall starts, most of the villagers migrate down towards Dharchula.

Zero Point: The trail ends at zero point, and there you may meet a large-sized ice chunk in between, along with calmly flowing, thin water streams. The place feels like a high-altitude meadow with a grand backdrop of the Panchachuli. The place itself makes anyone more calm and restful. The khal area of Panchachuli is also visible at a distance, which is the origin of the various rivers, including the main Darma river.

Darma River: One can also visit the river area, as there's also a beautiful bridge that connects to other villages situated on the upper side of the valley. The water of the river can be found more chilled than the ice in your freezer as it comes directly from the glacier.

Things to do during Panchachuli base camp trek:

Wander into the Trans Himalayas: Dugtu and Dantu villages are situated amidst the dense valleys of the Trans Himalayas. Sharing the geological area with the Tibetan Plate, Darma Valley is very sensitive but enriched with rare species of herbs and fauna. The valley offers higher and rocky mountains in various color shades, forests of Bhojpatra, wild sheep, musk deer, and many other wonderful things living in nature.

Trekking to Zero Point: Unexplainable beauty awaits you after crossing the base camp or KMVN stay facility. The entire trail feels magical, thanks to the heart-melting views. If you catch the first rays of the sun, you will find the Panchachuli peaks bathed in golden shade.

Camping: Since there's a slight slope around the base camp, one can easily find a good place to establish their own tent. However, you must have enough arrangements to beat the cold here, as the temperature falls below 0 degrees Celsius. Tents must be strong enough to keep you safe from wild animals, as snow bears and jackals are common in the area.

Night Stay at KMVN: Igloo-shaped rooms are made of high-quality fibre, enough strong to keep you safe in the valley. Food quality is manageable, depending on the location. You can request a bonfire from the management, which will help make your evening pleasant.
